Your VM thinks NumLock is on, which turns your right side keys into a number pad instead of letters. Try toggling your num lock and see what happens.

For example if I press the letter L key, what is displayed is the functional character 3 instead of L. But if I hold down the key Fn, then the character L is displayed.

Please could you tell me if I need to set something to avoid this. It is rather inconvenient to hold down the key Fn whenever you strike a key with functional character.
